Induction of MMS Batch 2022-2024 

TIMSR organized a 10-day Induction program for the students of MMS (Batch 2022-2024) from 24th November to 6th December 2022. The program started with the inaugural address by Director-TIMSR. During the welcome address, he disseminated the Vision and Mission of the institute. Further, the Dy. Director focused on the Values, Program Educational Objectives and Program Outcomes of the institute. She also emphasized the importance of Daily Mindfulness Session (DMS) and Hourly Thought Traffic Control (HTTC) for the holistic development of the students.

The following sessions were conducted during the induction:

  1. MMS curriculum
  2. Code of Conduct
  3. Ice-Breaking activities
  4. Self-awareness
  5. Management Games

A session on Outcome-based education, the KSA approach, Management Graduate attributes and Bloom’s taxonomy was conducted. Orientation by the Examination Department was also provided to the students. A Management Case Study was undertaken where the various ways to approach a case study were briefed to the students. Students were acquainted with the Placement Cell and briefed on various cells and committees at TIMSR, like Student Council, Placement Committee, Alumni Cell, Social Responsibility Cell, Research Cell, TIMSR Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (TCEI), etc. through which the institute organizes various activities.

Starting with Marketing Conclave on the theme – “Customer Experience (CX) – Reimagine. During the conclave, students got a chance to interact with highly experienced industry experts. Further, the students were briefed about Fin-Tech Lab and one activity. An activity on Reflective Essay- an Experiential Learning activity was also organized for the students to enact in different scenarios given to them.

A session on ‘Universal Human Values’ was organized with the objective to disseminate the right human values among management students, as a part of the delivery of value education. A session on Entrepreneurship was conducted wherein students were encouraged to carry an entrepreneurial attitude. A visit to Thakur Mall was also planned to make the students aware of the facilities of co-working spaces.

A session on “Career in Accounting and Finance” was organized where Industrial experts were also invited to guide students in a professional manner. An orientation to ISO was provided to the students. In addition to it, the students were informed about the Learning Resource Centre. Through a dedicated session, students were guided to build their Resume.

A session on Placement Preparedness was organized to make the students well acquainted with professional etiquettes and soft skills. Further, the students were guided on the “Reason of Absenteeism” and the importance to attend classes, regularly. A Movie Review of the Feature Film “Lakshya” was also conducted for the students and they were asked to share the management learning from the movie.

Mr. Darshan Shah, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) at Dun & Bradstreet India was invited to conduct a session on “Intro to Share Markets”. Mr. Himanshu Dave, Co-founder at Vitameliora shepherded a session on “Marketing Yourself”. They guided students on current industry trends and practices.

A guest session on ‘Careers in Management Accounting’ was arranged in association with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA). Ms. Bhakti Rane, Associate Manager at CIMA, highlighted the career challenges at present and in the coming times.

The sessions were highly interactive and insightful with a fun-oriented approach.
